Well said Allen. I loved this line:

"They are angry about incompetence. With good cause, they distrust the people in charge of those institutions, not the institutions themselves."

This nailed it.

Yes, agree. I think many of our stale politicians are sensing that trying to stop Trump will be not so great for their career. It will be fascinating to watch.

Allen, this is a long essay, but I wish it longer. Your mind dwells, as Plato might say, in the land of the Really Real. I distrust the concentration of power in every realm but heaven, and God himself divides power among billions of angels.

Thanks for your comment, Jim. It had me thinking about the "faces of power" discussion concerning rule by elites and the concentration of power in few hands. I don't think too many of the participants took it to the level you refer to here.
